Worship Ministry

"Shout with joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of His name! MAKE HIS PRAISE GLORIOUS! Praise our God... Let the sound of His praise be heard!" (Psalm 66:1-2, 8)

Here at Liberty, we are all about worship!  We are all about making HIS PRAISE glorious!  Our passion and desire every time we come together as the body of Christ is to let the sound of His praise be heard coming from our mouths and our hearts!  The energy, joy, peace and victory we feel each time we come together to sing to God and worship Him with all our hearts and just enjoy being in His presence is unmistakeably one of the greatest highlights of our week!

But here at Liberty, we also are learning and are continually on a pursuit of what worship really means.  It is so much more than just a few moments of songs and music every week!  Worship is more than a song...more than a melody...more than a rhythm...more than clapping and raising our hands... These things are true expressions of our worship, but they are not the sum of worship.  So we are on a pursuit of really understanding what worship is because we know that it is key to an intimate walk with the Lord that is fulfilling and victorious!  We were created to and for worship, and we want to go deeper and experience ALL God has for our lives.  We want to be true worshippers because we know that God is looking for those who will worship in spirit and in truth...these are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks! (John 4:23)

Romans 12:1 tells us, "in view of God's mercy, offer your bodies as LIVING SACRIFICES, holy and pleasing to God - THIS is your SPIRITUAL ACT OF WORSHIP."  This has always been one of my life verses and one of the things I love most about it is that it gives an actual definition of what worship is.  Worship is about being a LIVING SACRIFICE every day.  I used to think that the definition of worship stopped with that verse and it never made complete sense to me.  Sacrifice my life???  Offer my body???  What does that mean?  And then one day God highlighted the rest of that entire chapter and gave me a deeper revelation of worship.  The entire chapter goes on to give example after example of what that means and how we should demonstrate that in our lives.  (check it out for yourself)  So yes, worship can be expressed through our songs, but worship is more than just a song....it is a LIFE committed and surrendered to God.  It is an every moment of every day completely surrendered kind of relationship with the Lord...a life of not conforming to this world, a life of obedience and service and genorosity and love!  The Message says in John 4:23 that it's who you are and the way you live that count before God.  The kind of worshippers the Father is looking for are those who worship out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.....those who live it every day!!!

So, yes, here at Liberty we love to sing, dance, clap and lift our hands to the Lord, but we know that this is only one of the many ways we "worship" the Lord!  We let the sound of His praise be heard both in song and in our every day lives!  Our lives AND our songs make His praise glorious!

Won't you come experience this kind of worship with us?  There's nothing else that can compare... And I promise...you'll never be the same again!
